NISSAN PATHFINDER/INFINITI QX4
After a major performance boost in 2001via a new 3.5-liter DOHC 24-valve V-6 making 240 or 250 hp (depending on transmission)the smooth-riding, unibody Nissan Pathfinder and its twin, the Infiniti QX4, coasted through 2002 with few changes. For 2003 there are only package enhancements such as the availability of XM or Sirius satellite radio in all Pathfinders (but, mysteriously, not QX4s). Other minor changes include slicked-up interior and wheel treatments (17-inch wheels are now standard on the QX4), standard side and side-curtain airbags on Pathfinder LE models, and an optional package with a traction-control system and a tire-pressure monitoring system. Some previously optional equipment has been made standard on the QX4 for 03. These trucks impress us with their smooth rides, but passenger space is tight for vehicles their size.
