CHRYSLER CONCORDE
Entering its fifth year since its 1998 makeover, the Concorde remains Chrysler’s luxury streamliner. The Limited trim level (it replaced the defunct LHS last year) still offers the most gusto (250 horsepower) and the most luxury appointments. Although it’s getting on in years and subject to continuous rebating, the Concorde is still a styling knockout, with its Ferrari-esque grille and sleek, show-car profile. A mid-priced family car that looks like luxury, the Concorde is full-size, and like Chrysler’s other LH sedans, it’s exceptionally roomy, with plenty of rear-seat real estate. For 2003 Chrysler has added three new colors and bumped the CD changer capacity from four discs to six. For buyers of the mid-level LXi, a luxury-touring package offers chrome 17-inch wheels, traction control, and speed-proportional steering. Side airbags remain optional.
