CADILLAC SEVILLE
With a major makeover not far away, the Seville is all but unchanged for 2003. Nevertheless, it continues to be one of the more electronically sophisticated cars in its class. One 2003 update is the integration of XM satellite radio into the DVD-based navigation system, two options introduced as separate features last year. The Seville also offers Cadillac’s Magnetic Ride Control. Replacing the old road-sensing suspension, the new system uses a silicon-based magnetic damping medium to provide millisecond response times, according to Cadillac. The Seville is offered in SLS and STS editions. The STS carries the performance torch, with more aggressive suspension tuning to go with its 300-hp version of the 4.6-liter DOHC Northstar V-8. The tamer SLS uses the 275-hp edition. Both use a four-speed automatic and get Michelin tires as standard equipment in 2003.
