CADILLAC DEVILLE
A full-size front-drive sedan that blends traditional luxury with cutting-edge technology, the DeVille gets integrated side-mirror turn-signal repeaters, a tire-pressure monitoring system, and a couple new colors for 2003. Last year’s upgrades included a DVD-based navigation system, XM satellite radio, dual-stage airbag inflators, and a PCS phone-integration kit that allows drivers to access digital, analog, or PCS service. One-touch-up front windows enhance convenience. The DeVille’s rigid GM G-body chassis helps to make this big car almost agile—particularly in DTS trim. Powertrains continue to be two versions of the 4.6-liter Northstar V-8 (275 hp or 300 hp) with a smooth four-speed automatic. Inside, the look is familiar, with lots of Zebrano wood trim, lots of aromatic leather, and lots of room. The bottom line: The DeVille proves that a land yacht need not be a barge.
